Philip and Mary Pattison took over the business in 1996 and customers praised the new owners with restoring the chip shop to its former glory. Owing to its soaring popularity, Howard and Rachel Pattison joined in 2003 continuing the business' success, and now, with over 50 years combined experience, Capplemans fish and chips are now available to you in Pickering. At Capplemans your food is always cooked beautifully, especially in Phil's secret recipe home-made batter - there's no other quite like it - golden in colour with a light crisp texture which melts in the mouth. The fishcakes are home-made as are the mushy peas, made the old fashioned way using dried peas, soaked overnight and cooked to a special recipe every day.
