Our Cod and line caught Haddock are caught in the deep, cold, unpolluted waters of the north- East Atlantic around Iceland and Norway and the Barent Sea, north of Russia. These fisheries are very efficiently managed with fishermen and scienstists working together to ensure sustainability of the fishery. Unlike EU fisheries, discarding fish overboard is not allowed and all fish must be brought back into port to be sold.

There has been a family-run fish and chip shop on this site since 1937. We are serious about the quality of our food, especially our award-winning fish and chips, and everything is cooked to order. We only use the best, freshest ingredients. Our fish is filleted, packed and frozen at sea within a few hours of being caught. That way the fish is as fresh as possible and retains its flavour.

Owner, Ben Squire, created The Boathouse Cafe, founded on a life-long passion for fishing. At the age of 21, with the help of a £1000 grant from The Princes Trust, Ben purchased a fishing boat and started a small business taking the first mackerel and deep sea fishing trips in Plymouth, Devon. Since then the business has flourished.

Lyme's Fish Bar has been in business as part of the World Heritage site of Lyme Regis for the past 25 years. It was the first take-away in the town after the second world war, located on Coombe Street. It was founded by the Pelaou family and remains today under their capable control. Here at Lyme's Fish Bar, we cut and fillet our fish on-site for maximum freshness. Our chips are hand-made from the finest Maris Piper potatoes, which are peeled and chipped on the premises for extra flavour.
